A Day to Remember

We had finally made it, Money was in the bank, Our artist Steve Tinney had been across to Ireland, The bronze was complete!

The site was ready and so were we but sadly our Grand Opening Ceremony had to be curtailed thanks to government restrictions in place due to Covid – 19.

However – we managed to get members of both the Mackenzie and Collie families to the site and along with a piper, committee members, and members of the press, the sculpture was unveiled and revealed to the world!

  1. This is disappointing. Those who truly love Scotland’s wild places should not be erecting statues. Likewise, those who place benches with plaques fixed to them in public places. I do not doubt the sincerity of their intentions but display them in private please, not publicly.

  2. Thank you for your comment – we are forever conscious that we will never please all the people all the time. We have been amazed at the response to our project and feel we have contributed to the recognition of so many aspects of the history connected to these two gentlemen; if by doing this we have encouraged even one person to look further into the beautiful surroundings then it is surely a success.
